TerraGenesis v4.1
2/23/17
This update contains numerous small bug fixes and new additions, many of which were suggested by the players:

- Fixed a bug related to purchasing world bundles (if you experienced this bug, just tap "Restore Purchases" after updating to get your worlds immediately!)
- Fixed a bug that would show "biomass" numbers on screenshots when using Biospheres
- Re-added Biomass row to Stats Summary page, to better outline habitability requirements (thanks, Cody!)
- Adjusted the intergalactic laws regarding the detection and punishment of time travelers
- Added a “+” icon on the Stats pages to facilities currently being upgraded (thanks, Alberto!)
- Added localized names for new worlds in Japanese, Chinese, and Korean
- Improved Soletta performance with Biosphere

Edgeworks Day

Hey, folks! Happy February 9th!

For those who don’t know, February 9th is Edgeworks Entertainment’s anniversary, celebrating the day that our very first webseries, a Halo-machinima series called The Codex, was launched in 2005. Since then, we make a point to announce big news and launch new products each year on this day. So whether it’s your first time here or you’ve been with us from the start, welcome to Edgeworks Entertainment and happy February 9th!

Today we’ve got two big announcements to make. The first, you may have already noticed: we’re relaunching the Edgeworks website! We’ve got a shiny new logo and a completely revamped design, and we’re so happy to finally unveil it to the public. I’ve been saying for years that Edgeworks is coming back, and thanks to the success of TerraGenesis, it’s finally happening. So welcome to the new and improved EdgeworksEntertainment.com! Feel free to look around, check out what we have in store, and get to know our new look. We’ve still got some updating to do, particularly in the forum, so check back often for new updates and changes!

The other big news today isn’t as unexpected, but it’s a lot more highly anticipated: version 4.0 of TerraGenesis is officially live!

Announced a few weeks ago, TerraGenesis v4.0 brings the final unveiling of the much-discussed “Coming Soon” button: Biospheres! Build a complete global ecosystem from the ground up, designing it organism by organism and gene by gene. With 64 genes to choose from, 26 phylums to explore, 12 new random events, and literally infinite possible combinations, Biospheres is the single biggest update in TerraGenesis’s history! I have been working on it non-stop since August, and I am so happy to finally be able to roll it out to the public.

And for those of you who play TerraGenesis: be sure to pop into the game today, you might find a celebratory surprise waiting for you!

So there it is, February 9th 2017! We’ve got a lot of exciting stuff still cooking here at Edgeworks HQ, so be sure to check back often and follow us on social media so you can be the first to hear! This update contains numerous small bug fixes and new additions, many of which were suggested by the players:

- Fixed a bug that would prevent culture points from being spent on Expert immediately after starting a new game (thanks, Rogers!)
- Fixed a bug that would fail to count completed planets on the Orbit Selection screen
- Fixed a bug that would zero-out credits on Earth in Expert mode (thanks, Chance!)
- Numerous balancing tweaks for Beginner and Expert mode

TerraGenesis v3.4

You asked, and now I'm answering! Many players have said that TerraGenesis is too complex to learn easily, and others have said that they're looking for new challenges after having beaten every world in the game. Well I'm solving two problems with one update:

- BEGINNER MODE: Streamlined features, easier resource management, and fewer random events help new players get their bearings during their first game.
- EXPERT MODE: Unique challenges, increased complexity, and unexpected disasters will keep even the most experienced players on their toes!

And, as always, this update contains numerous smaller bug fixes and new additions, many of which were suggested by the players:

- Added "Connect" section to Main Menu: engage with other players and the developer across your favorite platforms, and discover other TerraGenesis-related content!
- Added a Biomass bar to the Stats Summary page
- Added a popup warning about the dangers of time travel (for those who haven't seen Terminator, Back to the Future, 12 Monkeys, Primer, Looper, Doctor Who, or Time Bandits)
- Fixed a bug that would cause random events not to occur on some games
- Fixed a bug that would allow for repetitive holiday events
- Fixed a bug that would allow for strange Culture slider behaviors (thanks, Mohammad!)
- Fixed a bug that would start games on ice moons with no pre-existing ice
- Improved Mars texture quality
- Improved city light rendering on high-population worlds

This update includes numerous bug fixes and performance improvements, including...
- Brightened the new app icon, to make it even shinier and newer!
- Improved texture compression to reduce app size
- Improved texture rendering speed & stability for iOS 9 users
- Increased Lethe plague frequency and deadliness (it does say "Hard" after all!)
- Fixed a bug that would cause satellite construction times not to be affected by culture (thanks, Bradley!)
- Fixed a bug that would cause fractions of a person to be affected by the Lethe plague
- Fixed a bug related to the elevation key on the colony placement map (thanks, Kris!)
- Fixed a bug that would pause background audio when opening TerraGenesis with in-game music paused
- Fixed a bug that would list extra decimal places for sea level requirements (thanks, Wil!)
- Added localized in-app purchase titles for Japanese, Chinese, and Korean users
